Josh, Thank you for your Christmas card. We enjoyed your class and it was an eye opener for my wife. I come across as a radical when talking about gun ownership and Second Amendment (Life Member NRA, Second Amendment Foundation). Funny, hearing it from a third party caught my wife's attention. I do have to say that the more I learn about the law(s), even in Texas, the more agitated I become. I do not plan to head a rebellion, but I just see our rights nibbled away more and more. Your class was not boring! There was a lot of really needed information transfered to the audience. I did not have time to talk directly with you for too much and what time I did have my emotions were hitting me a bit. I think I may be anti-authoritarian, but I did survive 20 years in the Army with multiple honorable discharges. A thought for your future classes: I was distracted by the general noise level of other class members when we took the exam and were getting the answers. I know I am a bit nervous, but that is an area where the class should be reminded that not everyone learns, reads, or writes at the same pace. I suppose chronic PTSD lends to me being sensitive. Then too, it could be that I am just old and cranky! You have an exceptional presentation style and I commend you for your level of energy. You are really doing the public a service by being an instructor/teacher/leader.

I just returned to Washington and am working on completing the CHL packet. I found the class quite informative and not at all boring. I will definitely recommend your class to any of my friends there. One comment I'd like to make about the NRA clip shown on the New Orleans gun confiscation after Hurricane Katrina: I was SHOCKED to see how many people had never heard of what happened there. I'm a bit biased. I'm a life NRA member and watch the NRA News shows often, so I've seen it. But I recall my disbelief when I saw the TV news broadcasts at the time showing those civil rights violations. It's unfortunate and frustrating that the one organization that is out there trying to protect our rights is constantly tarred by the liberals as some fringe organization to be dismissed.

Josh I just wanted to let you know your class has been my favorite since receiving my first CHL. It was professional, accomodations and visuals were excellent and liked having the range located in the same facility as the class. My other classes did not have ranges readily availble so we had to travel to the range for qualification once the class room material was covered. Having the class at Bass Pro shop also gives you an interesting place to occupy your time during breaks. There are also many places around the store to grab a quick bite to eat without having to go far from class. I will definitely recommend your class to anyone wanting their CHL.

Josh, I really did enjoy the class. It definitely was not like drivers ed. I have been suffering with all the allergy stuff in the air and have not been sleeping well, so I was more tired than usual during the class, sorry, no reflection on your teaching! I will definitely tell my friends about the class, and my husband said he will take from you on his next renewal. He went back to Sammy Millers class and he did not enjoy it. He wont renew for 5yrs now, but we will be back. I enjoyed the stories of your kids and your wife, sounds like you have a lovely family! I know you mentioned an advanced class and was curious about that, so more info would be nice.

Josh, The class was educational and no where near as boring as Driver’s Ed…first of all, I got to shoot a gun in class!!! Awesome! I appreciated the videos and some of the practical application/examples. I mailed my stuff in this past Saturday certified return receipt (hope that’s not too overboard). I just want to see how long from beginning to end until I receive my lic. It’d be nice if I could receive the license prior to the turn of the year.

This is by far the best class I have ever been to. I am used to boring old army classes that i dont want to go to in the first place but this CHL class that I wanted to go to was extremely entertaining, informative, and best of all small so everyone was able to get a grasp on something they may not have understood. I took your CHL class 26 May 2007 at the Bass Pro and it was presented very well and was entertaining for an 8+ hour class. The class was well woth the $90 especially for including the fingerprinting and photos! I mailed my package the next business day 29 May 2007. I received my CHL 11 July 2007 (6 weeks). I will be taking the renewal with LoneStar in about 5 years!

I just wanted to say thanks. The class yesterday made me feel a whole lot better about carrying a firearm, and also cleared up so many of the questions I had about the laws and use of deadly force. LoneStar Handgun was the best priced CHL course that I could find, they saved me at least 40.00 but compared to most classes they saved me even more than that. If you’re traveling from Killeen it’s only about a 20 min. drive. The instructor was very knowledgeable of the questions we had for him, and was usually able to give us multiple sources to research any future inquiries we may have. He made sure that everyone understood the contents of the information being given so that we wouldn’t have any problems passing the course. LoneStar Handgun not only gives you the course but they take your fingerprints, pictures, and provide you with the packet you will need to apply for your CHL and will help you correctly fill out the forms within it, for no extra charge. They even helped me when I had trouble at the range, I brought one of my husband’s handguns and hadn’t fired that particular one in a while and had trouble getting it to properly fire. They were very helpful and I was on my way to completing the course in no time.

I was one of the first handgun permit holders in the State. I have been with several instructors, from my initial licensing to renewal instructors. Josh is the only instructor that I would recommend. Rather than comment on the others shortcomings, you will find the instruction outstanding, the paperwork in order, and the range test safe and well organized. Hint if you have not been shooting for a while or have never shot get a good well oiled semi-auto and drop a few boxes through your weapon. If you are new hire Josh for a lesson, you will save yourself and all involved a tremendous amount of time, frustration, and pressure.

Very professional!!! I have held permits in three different states and been to many different classes this far surpassed the standard class for concealed firearms.
