LoneStar Handgun is located on 146 acres and includes more than 85 shooting stalls, 13 private bays, a 10-station Sporting Clays course, 5-Stand Clays, an archery range out to 80 yards, firearm rentals, training, and a full retail store.
Yes. Standard range access does not require a reservation.
Reservations are recommended or required for certain private bays, events, and specialized activities.
Yes! Visitors from other states and countries are welcome to shoot at LoneStar Handgun. If you do not have a firearm of your own, you may rent one under the supervision of our range staff. If you have little or no firearm experience, we recommend booking a private class with one of our instructors before shooting on your own. All visitors must follow our range rules and complete the required waiver before shooting.

Range admission provides access to the applicable included ranges for the day. Private bays, clays, golf carts, and other activities may have additional fees.
Yes. You are welcome to bring your own firearm to shoot at LoneStar Handgun. When entering the office for check-in, firearms must be unloaded and secured in a case, range bag, or holster.
Once you have checked in, your firearm may be uncased when entering the range. If you do not have a case or range bag, you may leave your firearm secured in your vehicle during check-in and retrieve it before entering the range.
Ammunition must meet the requirements of the specific range you are using.
No. You do not need prior firearm experience or a class to use the range. We welcome first-time shooters, and our range staff is on site and available to answer questions and help you get familiar with the range.
However, If you have little or no experience with firearms, we recommend booking a private lesson with one of our instructors. It’s a great way to become more comfortable and confident with firearms before shooting on your own. A waiver must be completed before using the range.
Yes! Photography and video are allowed on the range. Please be respectful of other guests and make sure your photos or videos do not interfere with range operations or safety procedures.
Yes. Eye and hearing protection are required at all times while on the range. You may bring your own, or purchase both from our retail store. We do not rent eye or hearing protection.
No. We are primarily a steel range and provide steel targets in our designated areas. You may bring your own paper targets for our private paper bays and zero range. Paper targets are also available for purchase in our retail store.
No. Standard range access does not require a reservation. Private bays are first come, first served, so we recommend reserving one in advance if you have a specific date and time in mind. This helps ensure the private bay you want is available when you arrive.
Some events do require a reservation, which will be noted in the event details.
Yes. Spectators are required to pay the applicable range entry fee and fill out a waiver.
Yes. Children are welcome to shoot at LoneStar Handgun with appropriate adult supervision. Guests 17 and younger receive the youth day-use rate.
For safety, the child must be able to properly wear and keep eye and hearing protection on at all times while on the range. Children must also be able to safely follow range instructions and cannot be in a stroller while on the range.
You can bring your own firearm and gear, or you can simply bring yourself! If you’re 18 or older, you must bring a valid form of identification. We have everything else you need available in our retail store, including firearm rentals, ammunition, and eye and hearing protection.

Eye and hearing protection are required on the range.
You are welcome at LoneStar Handgun even if you have never been to a shooting range before. When you arrive, you'll complete a waiver, check in, receive any applicable range instructions, and review the posted safety rules.
A Range Safety Officer (RSO) is on site at all times and available to answer questions and help you if you need assistance while you're on the range.
No. A class is not required for standard range use.
If you would like instruction, LoneStar Handgun offers beginner-friendly classes, private instruction, LTC training, and other courses.
No. You can bring your own firearm or rent one of ours, subject to rental requirements.
Yes. LoneStar offers firearm rentals and has staff available to help customers select and operate rental firearms.
Yes. A waiver must be completed before using the facilities.
FIREARMS
Yes! We allow both rifles and shotguns at LoneStar Handgun. Caliber and ammunition restrictions vary by range, so be sure to check the current restrictions for the area you plan to use before coming out.
Yes. The rifle range reopened on September 11, 2026.
The rifle range currently extends to 100 yards with steel targets. Longer distances are still being worked on and will be added as they are completed.
The largest caliber currently allowed on the rifle range is .308 Winchester. Green-tip ammunition and shotgun slugs/buckshot are not currently allowed on the rifle range.
The rifle range is currently open to 100 yards. Longer distances are being worked on and will be added as they become available.
Yes. Our zero range has distances of 15, 25, 50, and 100 yards.
The largest caliber allowed is .300 Winchester Magnum. Shotgun slugs are allowed, but buckshot is not. You may bring your own zeroing targets, or purchase targets in our retail store.
Ammunition requirements vary by range, so we recommend checking the caliber and ammunition restrictions for the specific range you plan to use before coming out. Green Tip ammunition and armor piercing ammunition are prohibited throughout the range.
Green Tip, steel core, and other armor piercing ammunition can damage our steel backstops, and targets. When these rounds strike steel, they can also create unpredictable ricochets and high-velocity metal fragments. Steel-on-steel impacts can produce sparks, which can create additional fire hazards in dry outdoor conditions. For the safety of our guests and to protect our range equipment, these types of ammunition are not permitted.

Yes! Shotguns are welcome at LoneStar Handgun, including our Sporting clay areas.. Shotguns may also be used in designated range areas and private bays, subject to ammunition restrictions. Be sure to check the requirements for the area you plan to use before coming out.
Yes, provided the firearm and ammunition meet the requirements of the range being used.
We don't have a formal dress code, but we recommend:
Spent casings can become hot and may land on exposed skin.
Yes. We offer a variety of pistols, rifles, shotguns, rimfire firearms, and select-fire firearms for rent.
Our rental inventory changes, so check our rental page for the current selection.
No. Ammunition used in LoneStar Handgun rental firearms must be purchased from LoneStar Handgun.
No. Rental firearms are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Standard firearm rental access is $20, plus the cost of ammunition. This gives you access to our rental firearms one at a time. You can exchange your rental firearm for another without paying an additional rental fee. Ammunition is purchased separately.
Machine gun rentals are $30 and include 30 rounds of ammunition.
You must be 18 or older to rent a firearm at LoneStar Handgun. A valid form of identification is required. Firearm rentals must be paid for with a debit or credit card; cash is not accepted for rentals.
Yes. We offer select-fire firearm rentals.
Machine gun rentals are $30 and include one magazine of ammunition. Additional ammunition is available for $1 per round.
You must be 18 or older to shoot our full-auto firearms.
Yes. LoneStar Handgun offers several private shooting bays for individual practice, specialized shooting, groups, and events.
Yes. Private bays can be reserved online through our website.
Firearm restrictions vary by private bay:
Shotguns used in any private bay require an additional $15 backer fee.

Yes! Private bays are great for groups, training, team-building, events, and specialized shooting.
The private bay reservation includes a range pass for the person who books the bay. Each additional shooter must purchase a range pass to join you on the private bay.
Yes. LoneStar has a 10-station automated Sporting Clays course. Access to the course is included with range admission, while clays are purchased separately.
Yes. LoneStar offers 5-Stand Clays.
Yes. Our archery range has targets at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 80 yards.
Field points are required. Crossbows are allowed, but broadhead arrows are not.
Yes. Golf carts are available for Sporting Clays.
Current pricing is $27 for members and $30 for non-members.
No. Membership is not required.
Membership includes waived entry fees for the handgun, rifle, shotgun, zero, and archery ranges.
Members also receive discounts on private bays, clays, golf cart rentals, and one free FFL transfer per year.

The Family membership includes two adults and household members under 18.
The Patriot membership is available to active-duty military, National Guard/Reserve, EMS, law enforcement officers, and firefighters. Credentials must be shown when purchasing.
Veterans may qualify by providing a Retired ID, DD214, or VA ID.

Yes. LoneStar Handgun has a full retail store with firearms, ammunition, accessories, and other shooting products. Customers can also try many firearms on the range before purchasing.
Yes! We carry ammunition in our retail store. If you're looking for a specific caliber or type of ammunition, please contact us to check availability before coming out.
Yes! Many of the firearms we sell are also available to rent and try on the range. If the firearm you’re interested in is not available through our rental program, you can purchase 5 rounds to test it on the range before deciding to buy.
Yes! LoneStar Handgun offers firearm consignment services. You choose the amount you would like to receive from the sale, and we handle displaying and marketing the firearm to potential buyers.
LoneStar Handgun retains 10% of the final sale price as the consignment fee.
No, we do not currently purchase firearms. However, you are welcome to put your firearm on consignment.
Yes. We offer basic gunsmithing services, including sight installation, firearm cleaning, repairs, diagnostics, and zeroing.

Gunsmithing is $40 per hour plus parts.
Customers may provide their own parts or have LoneStar order parts for them.
No work is completed without customer approval.
Yes. We offer custom onsite laser engraving.
Yes. LoneStar Handgun handles incoming firearm transfers.

Customers ordering through Silencer Shop will not be charged a transfer fee.
Before shipping your firearm, email FFL@LoneStarHandgun.com with:
LoneStar will provide our FFL to the seller if needed.
Once your firearm arrives and has been checked into our system, we will contact you by text with instructions to schedule your pickup.
Please note that a UPS or FedEx delivery notification does not mean your firearm is ready for pickup. Wait for our text confirming that your transfer has been processed and is ready.
For an incoming FFL transfer, you must provide a valid Texas driver's license or Texas ID showing your current physical address. The address on your ID must match your current residence.
If you have a Texas License to Carry (LTC), you may also present it to bypass the NICS background check. The address on your LTC must match the address on your Texas driver's license or Texas ID.
Active-duty military personnel stationed in Texas may have additional documentation options. Please see our FFL Transfer page for the most current identification requirements.
Yes. Once your firearm is ready, you will receive instructions for scheduling your pickup by text.
Customers arriving more than 15 minutes outside their scheduled appointment time, or arriving without an appointment, may be charged an additional $20 and may need to reschedule.
Customers have 30 days to pick up a transferred firearm after it is received.
After 30 days, a storage fee of $1.70 per day applies.
Yes. Suppressor transfers are currently $40 regardless of LTC status.
Suppressor pickups require an appointment, and walk-in suppressor pickups will not be completed.
LoneStar Handgun currently accepts qualifying 4473-only suppressor transfers from Silencer Shop and Palmetto State Armory, subject to LoneStar's current requirements.
Customers using this process must also be current members of GOA or TSRA.
Because NFA transfer procedures can change, customers should review our current FFL Transfer page before purchasing.
LoneStar currently processes SBRs and SBSs through the applicable Form 4 process.
For current NFA requirements, customers should review the FFL Transfer page or contact FFL@LoneStarHandgun.com.
We do not offer general firearm storage, but transferred firearms must be picked up within 30 days of being received. After 30 days, a $1.70 per day storage fee applies.
NFA items have separate storage timelines based on the Form 4 process and receipt of the tax stamp.
If you are active-duty military and need temporary firearm storage, please contact us to discuss your options.
Yes. LoneStar offers options for corporate events, team building, parties, fundraisers, meetings, and private shooting events.
Yes. Private tactical bays and other event spaces can be reserved for groups.
Yes. Our Pond Pavilion and classroom can be used for meetings, presentations, gatherings, and other events. The Pond Pavilion includes shaded seating, access to restrooms, water, electricity, parking, and outside catering options.
Yes. LoneStar offers customizable group experiences that can combine meeting space, shooting activities, firearm rentals, Sporting Clays, and other activities.
